When I first began working with a corporate business in Oxford, I could see they already had a dedicated and hardworking team. What stood out to me was their leadership’s vision: they wanted to go beyond ‘business as usual’ and create a space where people felt energised, motivated, and supported in their wellbeing.
They understood that healthier, happier employees don’t just benefit personally – they bring more focus, creativity, and positivity into their work. My role was to design a programme that would fit seamlessly into their busy schedules while giving their staff the tools to feel and perform at their best. One of the
My Approach
I created a tailored health, wellbeing, and fitness coaching programme that blended education, activity, and accountability. This included:
- Wellbeing Workshops on topics like stress management, nutrition, energy optimisation, and the importance of exercise. Simple, practical strategies they could put into action straight away (not just a 30-minute breathwork session!)
- Group Fitness Sessions before work and at lunchtime, designed to be inclusive, fun, and team-focused – improving strength, mobility, and confidence.
- Online Strength & Conditioning Programming for those who take their training more seriously and wanted to put their foot down when it came to getting stronger, fitter, and healthier.
- 1:1 Coaching Support for staff who wanted more personalised guidance with their health, fitness, or lifestyle habits.
- A Healthy Habits Challenge that got the whole company involved in tracking steps, hydration, and activity. Nothing beats a bit of friendly competition to build and maintain motivation within a team!
The Results
Over just 12 weeks, the changes were incredible:
* Staff reported feeling more energised – they felt sharper and more engaged throughout the day.
* Team morale grew stronger post-programme, with a 12% increase in ‘employee satisfaction’ and ‘positive workplace culture’
* 20% fewer days off saved the company money, and reflected the higher resillience of the team members
* Managers noticed a boost in productivity, especially in the afternoons when energy tended to dip (we know that feeling!)
* Most importantly, the staff members told me they felt more motivated and confident to continue all of the good work we had started: consistent exercise, healthier and more nutritious meals, and better sleep schedules.
What They Thought
‘The health and wellbeing programme Jamie has created made a huge impact on our team and the atmosphere in the office, and online. Staff seem happier and more engaged in their work. The best part is that this is reflected in the surveys Jamie provided to measure progress. The mix of education, coaching, and group activities created such a buzz for us. Delighted with the results. Thanks Jamie.’ – HR Manager
My Reflections
As a Personal Trainer, I already know how beneficial it is to invest in your health. I feel the benefits myself, but I also see them in my clients every day.
What did this experience demonstrate for me? How powerful it can be when businesses invest in the health and wellbeing of their people. By creating space for health and fitness, the company not only boosted staff morale but also strengthened performance across the board.
For me, the most rewarding part was seeing individuals discover more energy, more confidence, and more enjoyment in their day-to-day lives (which is no surprise to me because that’s the kick I get out of training my private clients!)
When my clients feel their best, they perform at their best. It was just brilliant to watch that unfold at company-scale too.
